Christopher Henderson

American University of Afghanistan

Chris Henderson has worked in the English department within the Social Sciences and Humanities Division at AUAF since 2009. Professionally, Chris has developed a keen interest in how writing works in globalized higher education. His particular focus is academic writing in English as a medium of instruction (EMI) in higher education institutions in jurisdictions in which English is not an official language. This interest spans both researching and developing pedagogies aimed at helping students acculturate to writing in ways preferred in these universities and researching the on-the-ground realities of the production and reception of student writing across the disciplines in such settings. Chris is currently also involved with the OSUN Strengthening the Core program, which is looking at ways to develop and promote writing to learn/writing to think pedagogies across the curriculum in Liberal Arts universities around the world.
