Civic Engagement Workshop: How to turn your project into a full-time job

Sunday, July 26, 2026
Online Event
8:00 am
This series of monthly workshops is facilitated by Global Engagement Fellows and brings student leaders together from across GHEA21 to learn from each other’s experiences, reflect on each other's work, gain insight and training, and work together on gathering material helpful for new project leaders. By bringing the effective work of student leaders to light, this series provides them with the necessary assessments, knowledge, abilities, and skills needed to ensure sustainable projects.

For fellows interested in deepening their long term commitment, this workshop explores pathways for transforming a civic engagement initiative into a sustainable professional endeavor. Facilitated by Freda Agyeman and Sabawoon Durrani, this session covers strategic planning, financial sustainability, fundraising, and personal leadership development. Participants will reflect on how to responsibly professionalize their work while maintaining their project’s social mission.
