IWT CLASP Workshop: Collaborative Activities for Global Learning

Global classrooms, where students around the world come together online, provide valuable opportunities for intercultural learning. This workshop explores how to design assignments and shape classroom dynamics to make the most of these opportunities. It focuses on activities that challenge students to engage with diverse perspectives across geographic contexts, to work together constructively, and to learn from each other across cultural differences. Participants will take part in a group exercise designed to promote global learning, intercultural competence, and collaboration, and then reflect on ways they might add collaborative activities to their courses. Daniel Calingaert, Bard College, facilitates this workshop.

This workshop is part of a series presented by The Center for Liberal Arts and Sciences Pedagogy (CLASP), a project of the Bard College Institute for Writing and Thinking (IWT), which works with GHEA21 faculty and institutions to promote student-centered teaching methods, writing-based teaching, and experiential learning.
