Eligibility

The Certificate in Education would be designed to serve students in their upper years of undergraduate study as well as those in their graduate studies in related fields.

Requirements

Students must complete four courses in education:

  • Lesson Design, Planning & Assessment
  • Theory and Practice of Teaching (combining key theories of education, review of assessment practices, and classroom observations)
  • Developing a Learning Environment
  • Content-area elective (a course corresponding to the field in which the student wishes to teach; e.g. math, science, literature, etc.)

Please note that the first three required courses – "Lesson Design, Planning, and Assessment," "Theory and Practice of Teaching," and "Developing a Learning Environment" – will be offered through the GHEA21 network. The content-area elective may be taken either through GHEA21 or at the student's home institution.
