Cultures and Politics of Food: A Global Overview

This course travels “around the world in eighty days” via sociological and anthropological examination of food preferences, practices and politics. The objective is to map the cultural and social patterns of food consumption to derive from these patterns current global issues on the human right to food vis-à-vis food insecurities driven by social inequalities, poverty and the climate crisis.
