Anton Markoc

American University of Central Asia

Anton Markoc is an Associate Professor of General Education at the American University of Central Asia. He holds a Ph.D. and MA in philosophy from Central European University and a BA in political science from University of Montenegro. Before joining AUCA in 2017, he held temporary research positions at Harvard University and University of Rijeka and taught at University of Donja Gorica. At AUCA, he teaches First Year Seminar, English Composition, and sophomore courses in philosophy, comparative literature, and political theory. He taught three OSUN online courses: Fascism and the Human Condition (Fall 2022), Literature and Art from the Soviet Union (Spring 2022), and Philosophy as Therapy (Fall 2023). His academic articles and reviews in English appeared in venues Journal of Value Inquiry, Journal of Social Philosophy, Mind, Philosophical Studies, and Res Publica. He is fluent in Serbo-Croatian, English, and Russian and proficient in Italian.
