Cholponbek Ormukov

American University of Central Asia

Professor Cholponbek Ormukov is an Associate Professor at the American University of Central Asia. He heads the Department of Environmental Sustainability and Climatology. He is a scientist and educator with over 25 years of experience in research and teaching. He graduated from the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn with a degree in Physical Geography. He defended his PhD thesis in 2007 at the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
He began his career as an engineer at the Institute of Seismology and rose through the ranks to become a leading researcher. Over the years, he has published over 30 scientific articles in both local and international publications.
He collaborates with universities in North America, Europe, and Asia. His research interests include natural hazards, climate, and the application of digital technologies in interdisciplinary research.
