Daniel Calingaert

Bard College

Daniel Calingaert is Managing Director of the Open Society University Network and Dean for Global Programs at Bard College. He previously served as Executive Vice President of Freedom House, where he supervised over 40 policy studies and briefs. He has taught at Georgetown University, Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies, and American University. Dr. Calingaert has published extensively, including in the Journal of Democracy, Policy Review, American Interest, and Journal of Strategic Studies, provided expert testimony nine times to the U.S. Congress; and designed and conducted anti-corruption programs in several countries. He earned his B.A. from Tufts University and M.Phil. and D.Phil. from Oxford University.
