Jorge Baxter

Universidad de los Andes

Jorge has worked for over 25 years in the fields of education, health, arts and media. Jorge holds a PhD in international education policy from the University of Maryland. Jorge is an associate professor and Director of Research in the Faculty of Education at Universidad de Los Andes. His research interests include comparative education, educational change in Latin America, education and sustainability, edutainment, social aesthetics and education. He co-curates an annual Film Festival on film and education in the context of the Global Conference of the International Comparative Education Society (CIES). Jorge's previous work experience includes co-founder of Mobilizarte (an NGO in Colombia that uses film and art to generate social impact), Director of Latin America for Sesame Street, Education Specialist at the Organization of American States (OAS), Adjunct Professor at George Washington University, and high school teacher at the Monterrey Institute of Technology in Mexico.
