Mahruba Mowtushi
BRAC UniversityDr Mahruba Mowtushi is an Associate Professor of English at BRAC University, where she teaches comparative literature, literary theory, and research methodology. She has a BA and MA in English from Queen Mary, University of London, and a PhD in Comparative Literature from King’s College London. Her research spans South Asian and African literature and history, and sound media, with work published in Research in African Literatures, South Asia: Journal of South Asian Studies, Literature, Critique, and Empire Today, among others. Her first monograph, Africa in the Bengali Imagination: From Calcutta to Kampala 1928-1973 (Routledge, 2024), examines Bengali literary engagements with Africa. Her current book projects explore Bengali radio drama and sonic literature with a focus on the politics of postcolonial listening.
