Nassim Abi Ghanem

Bard College Berlin

Nassim AbiGhanem areas of expertise include peace and conflict, non-state actors’ involvement in international politics, conflict management and peacebuilding, social network theory and the Middle East. AbiGhanem earned his PhD in International Relations from the Central European University (CEU) in 2022. His research focuses on peacebuilding processes, particularly on the involvement of local actors in peacebuilding tools such as disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration (DDR) and social reconciliation. AbiGhanem teaches on conflict and security, global citizenship, history of International Relations, and quantitative and qualitative research methods for social sciences. Outside academia, AbiGhanem advises regional and international organizations on programmatic initiatives taking place in Lebanon and is Lebanon’s country expert for Bertelsmann Stiftung Transformation Index for 2022 and 2024.
