Shoaib Timory

American University of Afghanistan

Shoaib Timory joined AUAF in 2014 and has taught various subjects including international law, UN and Multilateral Diplomacy, administrative law, labor law, constitutional law & commercial law.
Recently, Shoaib Timory worked at the Center for Dialogue & Progress - Geneva, covering the areas of legal affairs and peace-building. He has worked in various positions in the government, UN and NGOs. Between 2019 and 2021, he served as a senior diplomat at the Permanent Mission of Afghanistan to the UN in Geneva. He led the Group of 77 and China at the negotiations on the conference document of the 15th UN Conference on Trade and Development. He was also the lead author of the 2011 Afghan government report to the UN Committee on Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women.
He has a bachelor degree in law and political sciences from Kabul University and an LLM from the George Washington University. He has published articles focusing on judicial independence & constitutionalism.
