Daniel Calingaert, Managing Director of GHEA21, Talks With Freedom Press About the New Model of International Education
In the conversation with Freedom Degree, Daniel Calingaert, Managing Director of GHEA21 and Dean for Global Programs at Bard College, discussed how GHEA21’s model benefits both the students from established brick-and-mortar campuses and displaced students from refugee camps. By connecting via online courses, students learn from each other, interact with perspectives from contexts they otherwise would not be exposed to, and challenge their beliefs. Calingaert also reflected on how AI is actively changing higher education, and how faculty need to adapt to ensure that AI’s presence in the classroom balances innovation and academic integrity.
